Accredited Framing Courses
The Guild developed its accrediation scheme for picture framing training so that those new to the industry can choose their trainers with confidence.
All Guild Accredited Trainers are, or have been, practising framers with high levels of experience and have achieved Guild Certified Framer (APF) or advanced GCF qualifications. GCF(APF) requires a commitment to Continuing Professional Development keeping trainers, and their students, up to date.
Choose between Introductory Courses for Professional Framers and more advanced courses, between one-to-one training and group sessions, between courses lasting a few hours and those lasting a few days. All trainers listed below will be able to offer the approved syllabus which can be downloaded here.
If you are a trainer and wish to apply for Acccreditation please contact the GCF Programme Manager; you will need to provide your own syllabus, detailed teaching notes and copies of any handouts you provide to students.
All framers should aspire to gain the Guild Certified Framer qualification to demonstrate independently that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide a professional framing service. Training Courses to prepare you for the GCF(APF) examination are available. For self-preparation and to support your training programme, buy the GCF Study Guide, an excellent workshop manual in its own right.
